The rainbow drop rate with monsters is ok, you can find some rainbow without a problem. But the chance to get one from a chest is very very low (1/10000). Sam is a little difficult to find and more expensive than normal KC Seller but you get a purple for sure. The problem is you have a very low chance to get a rainbow (1/300 and 1/900 for amulet!) in addition you may get a crappy rainbow you don't need. An amulet from Sam costs 12 coins and a 2h weapon 18 coins for exemple, I need tons of coins or to be very lucky to get a rainbow with him.
As a lv100 repeating Vergrim quest gives me 35KC/hour.

Don't get me wrong, I think you're awesome. But, uh.. Do you ever eat or sleep?

yes I sleep a lot (like 8-10hiurs per day!) and i eat monsters ^^

Yeah I farmed coins for a while with Singing Swords and Schwag Bags.

Now I just need to find Sam....

I am getting some EMPTY chests. That is even worse than getting mostly green stuff. Only once have I gotten a purp out of one. Chests are still lame.

the empty chests you are getting is becuase your too high lvl for the area your in.

Rainbow? Level 17 and have never seen one! Later in game?

Minimum lv is 15 but you may get one at lv30+. It's very rare.

I've been disappointed with rainbow drop rates, I know they are very rare. I have 3 accounts, 1 fighter at level 51, and he has found 4 rainbows; no problem with him. But my Mage character, also level 51 has not gotten a single rainbow drop, for any type of character. The fighter got one he could use at level 28, the others weren't worth keeping. The mage, zilch. the ranger; he's two young at 10 to find one i guess.
