I'm all for it. I just hope they add more power options at that time, for variety, and they let us have more than 7 powers in the 'tray'. The 'test server' thing sounds GREAT! |

I will be interested to see how the classless system works. I, for one am enjoying what we have, and the fact that we can train at any trainer already makes me happy. My mage uses a ranger and a fighter skill along with her own, so I guess I'm confused as to what this is about. I'll trust the devs to know more than me. ![]() |

Even with skill points any class of player as it stands now could save up enough to buy any and every skill as long as they meet the level requirement. Therein lies the problem...the only limiting factor for a skill is the players level. In order for differentiation to be possible there needs to be an emphasis on class choice from the class selection screen. Once a class is chosen you should only be able to select skills for that type of profession. Thus creating your players type of role in gameplay. Problem is the devs would need to rework and implement at least 5 times as many skills for each class and tree them out a la (dare I say it!) Diablo style. They should also provide at least 6-10 traits for each class to chose from from the birth of their character. This would definitely make character differentiation much more prevalent and viable. The problem with this is eventually players will inevitably find out the best mold for each class and all the time and effort to expand and diversify individual character makeup will be lost anyways. But it will at least give individual characters of the same profession the options of being different. In the end though the cookie cutter molds for each class would take over and all this extra stuff would be pointless anyways. So what to do? I have not got the slightest clue... |

I personally hate the Ranger/Rogue class. Currently I'm growing as a Mage/Warrior character build. If they had a cleric class, I would have grabbed that instead. But no worries about me ever being a Ranger...lol -------------------- http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4149/ladyserenitybannerjy1.gif |

What is the point of having character differentiation in a game that only allows one character slot and is primarily designed to be solo'd? |

Quote: Nothing but when the 3 character per account expansion takes place (if it does) more than one build possibility becomes a factor. I was just trying to say that it is not viable to limit any character from getting any skill because of the games already limited scope. -------------------- Control is an illusion!!! |

I would like to see them come up with a skill system when if you have a group of similar skills they will advance faster. And if you have a group of dissimilar skills they would advance slower. Like the old saying "Jack of all trades, master of none". I mean armed combat and magic are dissimilar and it should be harder to do both. Also if they allow buff spells to be cast on other players you could make a cleric-like character. Throwing negative buffs on MOBs would be fun too. If they had some way to do damage unarmed you could have monk-like characters, maybe with damage bonuses from gloves. Or maybe backstabbing and stealth(defense buff) skills that works only with a knife and cloth or leather armor. |
