What is your preferred 2 handed weapon? Do you go for high Str, Str/End, Agi/Int?

Right now I use high str slashing axes, and its hard for me to convert to anything else because all I see are big drops in my dmg and def when I do.

I know the dmg range doesnt reflect DPS, but it seems the bigger the Dmg, the better the Butcher and Cleave. And in HDoL, you need to be able to take down bosses quickly so you can retreat and heal. Are the faster weapons able to do this?

At level 50, a "fast" 2H purple weapon like a "Deathbringer" axe or probably also a "Poker" (a spear or trident, I forget, its been 25 levels since I had one) will do something like 140-940 base dmg; Grandma does more like 440-1040. Avg base damage: 540 for deathbringer vs 740 for grandma class weapon. So "grandma" does 37% more base damage. However, it attacks 50% slower. If you are going to factor in butcher and cleave (which you should) then logically you should also factor in the fact that misses do the same damage with either weapon (zero) but take longer with the grandma. Lets not even talk about factoring in overkill, because then we also need to factor in underkill, and soon its clear the whole thing is very complicated to analyze rigorously.

I don't think its provable which is "better". Probably situational. Comes down to a matter of taste I think, but I prefer "fast" 2h weaps unless the mods on another weapon are just vastly superior. (Don't think the attributes differ at all amongst the 2h purples? I know all strength *is* available on a deathbringer, as are many other configurations.)

It seems to me that how you place your attribute points is highly dependent on your gear choices. Iow, you're not likely to put 3 into Str each lvl, if youre always selecting armor that is Str/End, and weapons that are all Str. Right now I'm trying to reconfigure my set up because at lvl 33, and only 15 points in Int, my mana runs out way too fast. However whenver I opt for an armor piece that gives me mana, I see a huge drop in my core stats, dmg/def/health. This is even more pronounced when I go from an axe with 70+ str for example, to a sword with an split between str/int or str/agi/int. So I was curious what the perferred armor and weapons were at higher lvls with regard to stat distribution ( I dont care about resistances since i can buff those ).

As the decision is situational like you said, I was most concerned about being able to take down a hero/boss in a pack of 4 boss groups (like in the HDoL), and still be able to get away in time to heal.

It appears to be the case that if you're soloing HDoL (as a fighter) you need way more health than when youre doing the quest dungeons. And as of now the HDoL seems to be the where I'll be spending most of my time.

weapons have the biggest stat bonuses.. so you use that where you need it most. boots and gloves have the lowest.. so if you're looking for just a few extra points to go somewhere.. you can put them there... rings are good for single stat type bonuses.. and necklaces too.

you'll work it out with a little fiddling.. takes some time to find a set youre really happy with

I've got a 40 fighter and 1% mana steal is all i need to never have to quaff a mana pot(almost never anyway), even in HDOL. I have member gear fyi.

Ok, I want to post this here and see how well I am doing, or how bad I am sucking at the game / with my char.

I have a lvl 44 warrior and my attributes are like 76, 76, 76, 24 (may not be exact), I usually try and have gear (armor and jelewry) that balances my char out the best I can. (balance between what it gives me in Def/Str/Dmg/Res. etc).

Here is the thing, I can't go into HDOL without really using some pots, and by that I mean having to hammer decently on the pots to stay alive, this is either partied or single, makes no difference.

OK, with that said, tell me... do I suck or have I just screwed my player on my stats / gear?

Thanks, Slo.

they sound very low. you hould be getting 215 points just from level ups. are you fighting naked? your numbers only add up to about 250 and at lvl 44 you should be getting about +70 for a 2H weapon +30 for helm +30 on rings and jewelery +70 on armour +15 on gloves and boots... and they're on the conservative side.

Right now i like 2h slashing swords .. i like a high minimum damage, ill take higher damage over speed ... i like a reaaly high damage slothful .. or normal ... i actually prefer the timing of normal and slothful to fast ..

i am liking critical hits too .. looking for any armor, jewelry, with critical hit +'s on em to hopefully stack em with the one listed on my wep already ...

umm, I don't think I was clear enough on my post

The Attrb. pts. I posted was raw, no gear on, Sorry about that. Maybe my question will be a little easier to addresse.

I to tend to like a normal to slothful over the others, crits are nice but haven't noticed a whole lot of items dropping that give '+' on that.
