Inventorry items vs Quest items
#16411 - 02/28/07 08:20 PM

I would like to see quest items in a different inventory rather than count towards your items inventory. I have had times where my quest items took up almost all of my inventory and to me that is not the way it should be, inventory is for usable items. Is there something in the works for this, or maybe some sort of bag or pouch to carry extra items in the works?

Another great suggestion lost in the beta boards. We have tiny backpacks as it is, we really shouldn't have to waste space with quest items. A second pack that will only hold quest related items would be nice.

Compounded by the fact that quite a few of them take 4 squares of room each. It wouldn't be so bad if it was only one square. But it would be better if they simply were just tracked and not taking up room in inventory of any sort. I guess if it has to be in inventory then a quest inventory should be added.

I agree that it's inconvenient to have slots taken up by quest items. However, that's just a simple fact of how "adventuring should work", IMHO. Sure DR has a ton of silly/fun stuff about it, but there's really no need to make everything super convenient. I like the fact that the potions at least, are stackable.... only with memebership and only in stacks of 5, but it's better than 1 potion = 1 slot. I like the idea of quest items only taking up one slot rather than the usual four. Perhaps a "belt" could be added (as a loot drop) that would carry only potions/scrolls. That would allow a little more inventory room.

meh... just my two coppers...

I was thinking the same thing since so much of the game reminds me of diablo II. In fact potions were in stacks of 5 in it as well but you had belts with what was it 20 or 25 slots so you could load up on tons of potions.

Or perhaps add a new "armour" type:

Over-stuffed "cargo pants" of the bloated hippo

+"X" more storage
-5% to -10% movement speed (or perhaps % = amount of additional inventory)

More carrying / storage space period would be very nice. This game is VERY limited in that are.

I agree with this.

However, I think it would be a good incentive if a "quest" bag was made available to members that would hold a few quest items and help free up inventory space for usable items.
