Delayed movement but Good Framerate
#16346 - 02/28/07 06:08 AM |
My problem I'm having atm is it seems when I go to move my character I get about a quater to half a second delayed movement before my toon reacts. I tried the Pipeline = VFPF and Display = VFPF but it doesn't help. My framerate is awesome so I don't know what it is. Anybody else having or had this problem? Thanks in advance. |

I just posted about this in the player question forum. It does the same thing to me. |

I'm interested in following this one as well. Since the most recent build (did not occur prior to this) movement is delayed upon clicking, and sometimes the character will not move to the next location at all, unless holding the mouse button down till he starts to move. Once he starts to move, he runs smoothly through the dungeons without issue. This is playing on a low population server, late at night, so it isn't a load problem. Nor is lag noticeable 90 percent of the time. It also happens more on my more advanced characters than new ones. I tested the movement around town and in the dungeon, in town it takes about 1.5 secs before the character starts to move. In regular dungeons doesn't seem to be any worse and sometimes is faster, in hdol it is at least this bad and sometimes worse. system is plenty fast to play the game. xp3500 amd, 1.5 gigs of ram, ati x800xl video. It does run on a wireless router though which isn't recommended, but hasn't seemed to be an issue yet. Edited by LordWarlock (04/07/07 12:07 AM) |

It isn't an bug. Online games could runs with 2 movement system. 1) Local sync 2) Remoted sync in Local sync when you click on a place the pg will move when server recive the movement command (delay depended) in Remoted sync the pg movement is handled by client and server syncs with your currend position and refresh his database. for example: Ultima Online is Local sync. If u have a 2 secs ping with the server your pg will move after 2 secs. World of Warcaft is Remoted sync. If u have a 2 secs ping with the sever u move your pg without problems but other players and the server will see and hand the movement after 2 secs. Sometimes u runs your pg for kilometers and, for a server delay, u see the pg teleport back to start point. in Local sync this never happens but is more annoying to play with lag. sorry for my bad english. |
