When is the best time to turn these things in? I assume it results in a yellow or purple item within a couple lvls of your current lvl? Is the game coin heavy in the early lvls and you end wishing you had waited when youre around lvl 50?

When I still could use the items, I'd generally only use them when I was changing builds and needed a couple new items at once. For example, to get a 1h weapon and shield when I tried that for a while instead of 2h.

This is just me but as things stand now I'd use your kings coins early (like under level 15) to get some good gear particularly as a Mage or Ranger. Fighters are a little easier to keep alive in the lower levels from their inherent traits so maybe save a few till later if you are a fighter. The quests end about level 25 and kings coin random drops are extremely rare. I haven't seen a kings coin for 40 levels. Do they drop in HDoL? I wouldn't know since I can't really solo HDoL as a mage.

I've actually partly given up on kings coins. I have about 40 of them because I'm finding that all the membership items are starting to be better than what I've been getting by turning in coins.

Ive never seen a Kings Coin drop in HDoL, but then I havent had one drop for my Mage through all the dungeons.

My low level Ranger has had 2 drop so far.

I have 73 kings coins in my bank.

I am just keeping them...I dunno, in case they maybe change it, or to see waht I get if I use them at a high level.

No one has ever gotten a rainbow with them, but maybe I could if I bought a bunch of stuff at high level.

I wouldn't worry about a strategy for using Kings Coins. I have stacks of them in my bank with very little use for them.

If anything I would say, use them early and often because if you don't they become worthless later on. Unless the devs allow us to get rainbows with them later on...

I first cashed in 3 coins early around level 8 or so and got a pair of phenomenal boots. Around level 10 I got some really good body armor that lasted me another 10 levels. Then I got a yellow weapon that wasn't so good so I used them again on a 1H weapon and got a winner.

But it looks like the next patch will introduce kings coin drops possible from chests as well as random NPC's in dungeons to cash them in at.
