'Classless' system?
#14242 - 01/31/07 04:55 PM

So if we're going to have a classless system, *and we could train from anyone before anyway*,...
Why do we still have Fighter, Mage, and Ranger designations for us?

Shouldn't we start as 'Human' or some such (no class designation for the players *throughout* the game), maby pick who our initial contact would be, like...
(Text example: Welcome (name). Who would you like to talk to first?,... (name) of the Mages, (name) of the Rangers, (name) of the Fighters, (name) of the Summoners, ect., ect., ect.;
but don't forget Hero, you can train from anyone, at anytime! So get out there and run some dungeons! (/text)
Keep the designation for the trainers, but *omit* them for the players.
I just don't get the 'classless' branding when you still have the classes split on the forums and in starting up the game.

The patch isn't here yet so perhaps they'll implement somthing like that when it's ready. Otherwise I don't know.

Yes, I understand that, but they redid the forums, wouldn't that part have changed w/ the forum wipe?...

I have to admit that it's pretty silly of them to wipe/rebuild the forums only to have a major portion obsolete when the "classless" patch hits.

Speaking of patches, when the heck is the next patch. I'm getting sick of all the little buglets that have yet to be squashed.

First, I have to point out that We cannot rely on logic when generating conclusions as to why the devs have done something a certain way.

Second, We have no way of knowing "when" they are going to the classless system so it would be premature to set that up in the forums now.

Third, they want Crickette to have something to do later when they change to the classless system.

In this game, you pay first and then they show you the goods...like in the bazaaro world.

Like here, buy this steak..here's a picture of what it might look like...pay now and hopefully you can eat in a week or so.

MMORPG.com: Will there be more classes and more detailed character development?

Stephen Nichols: We’re moving toward a classless system if compared to traditional RPG standards. Our March/April update will contain this change. Essentially, you’ll be able to create your own class through the skills that you equip and the items that you use. We want players to be able to change their play style without having to re-roll a character from scratch.

...For anyone else intrested in this topic....
