Warrior Stats
#60997 - 06/06/08 04:53 PM

Hey there fellow Dungeon Runners. I have just recently started a fighter and am wondering what stat build i should use, and what other skills to use.

My current build is 2/2/1 str/agi/end

Heres a link to my character
http://www.threeplanetssoftware.com/software/dr/Genkino

I've just been picking up my stuff through the dungeons to use, and a few purps my mage has gotten farming SC. That's why my characters selection is so sparse.

For stats, I found that having AGI and END about 75% of your STR works great for the first 80 levels or so. Then you can start to re-spec after what gear you use since you'll have more Gold then.

As for skills, just look up a fighter in the game, go to a char-viewer and look him/her up.
You can look at my wife's lowbie fighter here for tips of what skills to use.

And both us at HDoL.eu and the guys at TheTownstons have guides going on.

Lochlain (my fighter) is level 100. This is how I played it from beginning to end...

Regardless of the gear I had I arranged my points so that I had 2 points of Str for every 1 point of Agi. I never put any points into either End or Int. Once I hit 100 and got my gear squared away I found my gear boosted my Agi and Attack Rating so much I could just put all my points into Str. Never had a problem.

Well I don't pvp so that's more than likely why I have no problem going lower on end. And it did get frustrating with my mage until I had BSoL.

lol xD I guess that tells a few things I PvP... so even for my Ranger I'm thinking of restating him back into Critial for the extra END and taking out Mental Prowess and Bookworm which kills my END

well i have no clue where you're going with your fighter.. pvp or pve? and bookworm? with a 5 int? not even worth the space it takes up would be better to find maybe a heavy int ring ....

closest comparrison I have is BurritoBoy lvl 8 that i'm messin around with http://www.threeplanetssoftware.com/software/dr/burritoboy

i pushed a full 5 into end amd the rest have went to str...all my agi has came from gear and i have soul rend on right click with no problems... now i realise you are probably way past dew valley but I hit Algeron at lvl 5 with him and still no problems.

Gary

Bogey is my lvl 100 and i have to agree since then he is almost totally str with a little into agi to keep my att rating between 8-10k

Taking a closer look at your character I can say that you definitely shouldn't be using Bookworm. You might get away with Couch Potato. Also this early you want to use few skills that require mana. I'd go with passives as much as possible. Use the 1 handed boost (or 2 handed if applicable). As far as the other skills, I used hardly any until I could get them boosted up higher. Most of them aren't of any real use until later. Of course this is all just my opinion so YMMV.

I'm mostly using my fighter as an escape from playing my mage, although i'd like to get it a high level as well. I was probably thinking about using my skills when i put up bookworm and such, but i see waht you mean by it being better w/o skills. I changed my build accordingly and any advice with my new one would be great.

I assume you're using Spirit of the Hare as a means to get around faster between fights. That's cool. Ice Bolt isn't of any real use although I could see playing around with it as a means of pulling groups to you. I used Soul Rend as my main attack for quite a while and then switched to Holy Roller when it became available. I'd give more advice but it's too damn early for me right now. lol

Holy Roller on right mouse button, 1-H swivel action on left mouse button. Soul Rend in quick slot bar for bosses and big mobs.

Soul Rend was on the left mouse button, but it ate my mana bar for breakfast, so I moved it to where I can better control when and how often to use it. Works out great

Why you need some mana steal for any good white paladin. Usually 2-3% is plenty to keep your mana pool full with soul rend on left mouse. I rarely use any mana pots as a fighter.

look for a Gavel the one I have has like 9% mana steal on it and it rocks:)

I'll have to check my gear to see what I've got but even without the Gavel and only the 2-3 i have on armor and such I have no problems with soul rend

Yeah i always found the 9% on the gavel a bit of overkill. Considering i usually have very low int and maybe a bit of +MP on gear and never needed over 3%

My fighter stats are nuts. at lvl 100 I did a respec and put ALL points in to my str and the gear I use more then makes up for anything that needed points. my slots go like this- L/R is set up with a passive so is not to slow my attack speed. by the time you use 1 skill like HR or SR I would have hit you 3-4 times and hit you with way more hp's then if i was to use a skill. I will try to get a screen shot of me hitting at 10K + per swing

Its normal for me to hit 5-8k average everytime, non-critical. The dps of a good fighter, is around 12 to 30k, without crits. With crits I can get upto 45k, and possible upto 70k dps (Just for one second tho) with melee reflect. Just a notice..

sorry Legendrunner I should have went in to more detail. The lowest I seen my self hit was 10K and a high of 20k+ with a fast attack speed and none a crit hit. the average per 4 swings is like 70K in less than 3 seconds. which is why I dont use any skills in my L/R they will just slow me down.

I'd say you're doing good. Using mostly pure Str items such as you do, you need a high END and AGI as you have in your stats. It's good you keep them about as high as your STR is.

Your build is good for damage, but you might have some survivability trouble against bosses. Plus, your attack rating is a bit low (you generally want 100 attack rating per lvl, so a good starting place for your current lvl would be 2,000 attack rating).

If you're strong as hell but missing half of your shots, it kinda' defeats the purpose. Also, try to get that last skill slot filled up with something useful- you want to take full advantage of what's available.

EDIT: Sam is found on lvls 4 and 7 of dungeons Algor's through Ratsputin's (excluding HDoL). He is rare though, and his rainbow selling version is rarer still.

It's a problem with the XML feed dropping the skill slot when its populated with the Bling Gnome. Already reported and Anson is going to take a look.

Get str and end up at the start till level 40ish because you dont really miss things till higher level well go with the kind of mods u got i suggest trying to get str gear because at level 25ish you can get 45+ str chest and stuff so you can easily get it up to 150 without mods just try to balance it out.

So far I'm going all strength and endurance. Agility isn't doing much for me yet being the noob that I am and intelligence is a waste for a fighter from what I see so far.
