So far I've been seeing a greatly decreased number of bows...(thank goodness).

Still getting plenty of 'em though. (If they're gonna drop, it'd be nice if they were actually a bit useful... sadly not though)

I have to say i'm still seeing an awful lot of ranged weapons drop with mny warrior build both xbows and to a lesser extent guns.

I am still seeing tons of the bows. Atleast make them stackable lol.. those and the poppers.. these are driving me nuts.. Dont get me wrong, I sell them back, but they take up so much space...

Hmm... I've been playing since Dec 06 (v.44 I think) and this xbow problem has been present since then, if my memory serves me right, to a varying degree. It seems it's gotten worse recently.

I have always thought it is an issue of drops that are for the other 2 classes. When I play my fighter most drops are gear for mages and rangers, when I play my mage most gear is for fighters and rangers. But the ranger gear (ie: xbows, shotguns, poppers, etc.) seems to be the larger part of drops. It may be just that there are more fighters and mages than there are rangers, so perception of the issue is a little skewed... I dunno.

Anyways. The drop system needs to be reviewed/improved.

I think the best way to go is with some pseudorandomness skewed just a little bit towards useless gear for the character getting the drop, simply because there are so many drops.

It may already be like that, or so it seems, just that the skewedness is a little too much...

But with rainbows skewed more toward gear the character can use, because getting a useless mythic ruins the point of mythics.

I really doubt at present that the drop code adjust at all to your character class. Especially since classes were just eliminated. It's just easier to notice stuff that isn't for you, as opposed to stuff that is but isn't good enough to replace your existing gear. That you don't notice this with your ranger may suggest that xbows do indeed drop more... but for everyone.

That's why, before the patch, a lot of people ran tests to see if xbows really did drop more often. They'd grind a dungeon for a couple hours, writing down all the gear that dropped. They all found that xbows dropped from slightly, to significantly, more often than anything else.

Lots of bows still.. lots and lots and lots and (did I mention lots?) more bows :/ Running the shadow queen tonite I'm averaging 1-2 guns or crossbows per fight.. I have yet to get a warrior weapon to drop tonite, and I haven't seen a suit of armor from her in the last 2 days.

As needed, I'll post more screenshots.. and HDoL is worse.. usually a bow every group.. it's getting very hard for my warrior to get the gear he needs (ATTACK RATING!!! The def boost part of the patch is way, way overboard) and it's getting even more frustrating than usual to see all these ranger weapons dropping.

As a small update, MarkT was on tonite and mentioned that because crossbows represented 1/3rd of the weapon drops it would be possible to see long runs because of the randomizer. What we're seeing in the game isn't just long runs on the randomizer.. it's consistent, mass drops of the darn things. I am absolutely certain, beyond any doubt, that I could gather a minimum of 100 crossbows in an hour. I'm also absolutely certain I will see one tenth of that amount of suits of armor for any class. While beating on the shadow queen today with mamaA, we managed to generate this lovely screenshot, and it was typical of the drops we were getting.. over two hundred bows in 2 hours, and not a single mage weapon in the entire time.. there's simply something wrong with the drop tables that needs to be looked at. Please keep in mind what's sitting on the ground in this shot is from ONE kill.
